The central theme of the 1ive0n1ine project is the concept of Virtual Immortality. Some people are already completely used to the idea of an online afterlife, others find it to be too exotic to even think about. To get a bit of an overview of the existing thoughts on this concept of Virtual Immortality, we interviewed some of today’s most prominent internet users. Their thoughts will be used in the process of creating the 1ive0n1ine system that will enable people to generate an online identity that will outlive their physical selves.
The questions:
1. What kind of applications do you use?
2. After your death, what will remain of you on the internet?
3. Do you want to be erased, or kept alive on the internet?
4. Do you think you should leave instructions to your loved ones on how to keep
you alive on the internet?
5. Do you think there should be a dead or alive sign attached to your name?
6. If we are both dead, do you think our virtual presences will still be able to communicate?
Together, these people will make the first data entries into the system, thereby beginning the never ending process of the creation of the virtual hereafter.
